KFM LEGAL

U.S. Immigration Law

At KFM Legal, we process a high volume of K-3 and K-1 visas. The processing of a K-3 or K-1 visa, along with related applications such as adjustment of status, can result in the issuance of a green card for the spouse or fiancé(e) and their unmarried children under the age of 21 to live permanently in the United States. In addition to K-3 and K-1 visas, we process business visas, tourist visas, work visas, student visas, investor visas, and naturalization applications.

We have two billing options for U.S. immigration law. Our first billing option is our standard hourly rate. This option is good when an application or a petition has been nearly completed and needs only minor review. Our second billing option is flat fee billing. Clients should choose flat fee billing if they want our firm to handle their application from start to finish.

We offer consultation for U.S. immigration law virtually to clients nationwide. In-person consultation is offered at our Atlanta office. If you are a U.S. employer, you may be eligible for a free consultation.

Emigration Processing

Emigration from the United States is the process of U.S. citizens moving abroad permanently or temporarily for the purpose of employment or retirement. With peaceful escapes like Micronesia and Jamaica and futuristic cities being built in Africa such as Eko Atlantic City in Nigeria and Akon City in Senegal, along with many other destinations, the number of U.S. citizens interested in emigration is growing every day.

There are two phases of emigration processing. First, we help clients secure employment abroad by partnering with foreign companies that are interested in diversifying their workforce. Second, we assist clients with the visa application process. A one-hour consultation is required to discuss a client's education, background, experience, interest in emigration, and financial planning for emigration. If a client wishes to proceed with emigration after attending the consultation, the client must sign a fee agreement with our firm that approves 3-5 hours to be billed at our standard hourly rate when the visa application is ready for filing.

Couples Mediation

Couples mediation is a kind of legal counseling designed to help quarreling married couples reach a reasonable compromise in their marriage. Couples mediation is better than traditional marriage counseling because couples mediation quickly gets to the root of the problem and offers creative solutions to put an end to marriage disputes. Helpful tips for couples can be found in Attorney McDaniel's enlightening and entertaining audiobook, The Good Wife. Listener discretion is advised.

A minimum of one hour is required to book couples mediation. Clients can pay for more time as needed in increments of one hour or half an hour.

Kevin F. McDaniel, Esquire

Attorney Kevin F. McDaniel is the founder and managing attorney at KFM Legal and the founder and CEO at KFM Holdings. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is licensed to practice U.S. immigration law in all 50 states.

Attorney McDaniel grew up in a small town in Central California where he lived and schooled until graduating from high school and moving to Bakersfield for college. Attorney McDaniel was the first in his family to attend a university. Although he did not know what to expect, he brought with him the lessons he learned from high school and especially the important lesson he learned from running track and field.

The most valuable lesson Attorney McDaniel learned from running track and field in high school was a lesson about hard work. Attorney McDaniel is a natural-born athlete, one with incredible speed and power. During grade school and high school, Attorney McDaniel attended track practice mostly to joke around with his friends but not to practice. This was because Attorney McDaniel was used to beating everyone he raced at every track meet without much effort. That changed his junior year when an athlete from Yosemite chased him down in the 100-meter dash and beat him. He beat him a second time and a third time. Attorney McDaniel felt confused and ashamed to be beaten in the 100-meter dash because that was his best event. For the next two weeks leading up to the rematch with his Yosemite rival, Attorney McDaniel practiced every day harder than ever before. He started early, he practiced late, and he practiced on weekends. Attorney McDaniel practiced until the point of total exhaustion, but he did not care about the pain anymore. All he wanted was to win. After two weeks passed, he faced his rival and beat him. He never lost again to that rival.

Like many new college students, Attorney McDaniel was undecided on his major and on his career after college. He thought about becoming a police officer or a deputy sheriff. He ultimately decided to major in criminal justice at California State University, Bakersfield. During his final year, he took a criminal law course with a judge from Los Angeles County. Attorney McDaniel enjoyed the course and studied for it more than any of his other courses. The following year, Attorney McDaniel was off to Arizona to attend a private law school called Phoenix School of Law.

Attorney McDaniel's first semester at Phoenix School of Law was tough, but he persevered and became a good law student. His favorite courses were contracts, legal research and writing, business law, and trial practice. Business law in particular became a major focus for Attorney McDaniel. He began drafting sophisticated contracts for his security guard company, and he registered his company officially with the Arizona Secretary of State. After law school, he decided to take the bar exam and to open an immigration law firm, practicing out of Scottsdale, Arizona and now in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ms. Dorcas Muthoni

Ms. Dorcas Muthoni works as a political analyst at KFM Legal. She is a college graduate with a diploma in international relations and a bachelor's degree in international studies. She performs qualitative and quantitative analyses on world politics, international laws, and communication systems affecting immigration and emigration.

Dorcas completed primary school and most of secondary school in Nairobi, Kenya, but she had to move and live with her grandparents in another city to finish secondary school. Life in another city was not the same as she was accustomed to because it was in a rural area. She had to learn how to farm and adapt to the new environment. After a while, she learned everything she needed to learn to be comfortable there. Dorcas will never forget the time she spent living with her grandparents, and, since then, she has always loved nature.

Dorcas pursued her course in international studies at Strathmore University. Studying at Strathmore University taught her time management, discipline, and self motivation. There were times when she wanted to give up, but remembering her goal of becoming a diplomat made her work even harder. She is a social person, and, when she gets bored, she likes drawing, doing DIY projects, singing, dancing, and practicing photography. She says life is about loving yourself and not getting lost or losing yourself in the world.

Ms. Christine Nabulya

Ms. Christine Nabulya is a research and marketing specialist at KFM Legal and the chief brand officer at KFM Holdings. She excels at applying creative thinking to complex data sets, maintaining her composure when put under pressure, and using sound judgment to make tough decisions.

Christine grew up in the East African country of Uganda with her mother and cousins. They lived happily together as an upper middle class family with maids who used to perform all of the housework. The lesson Christine learned from living that life of leisure, having everything being done for her, was that it made her extremely lazy. Her progressive acquisition of pervasive laziness made for a tumultuous beginning when she started boarding school, which she began at the age of nine. Christine quickly learned that, in boarding school, she had to do everything on her own because there was no one to help her. She had to wake up as early as 4:00 AM to go to class. She hated waking up so early and doing all sorts of mundane tasks, but she admits that it helped eradicate her laziness. She is grateful for that.

After boarding school, Christine found an interest in fashion. She was the first designer to produce and model a KFM shirt and many other KFM designs. She designed and modeled using the nickname her husband gave her, Tina Flame. She explains that her husband calls her Tina because it is short for Christine and Flame because he says she is so beautiful it is like she is on fire. Christine now has her own fashion line under the KFM brand called The Tina Flame Collection.
